CHALLENGE 77 - POPPIES

Well hello again - I am back from my holidays (early but long story there so won't bore you all) and am now in the process of packing up my stuff for the move over the waters to Bermuda on Monday.
Thanks for your lovely Christmas entries.
And the lucky dip winner is you No 9 SUSIE LITTLE, please email me your address and I will send out the fab stamps courtesy of Caroline's Rubber Stamps. Many thanks once again for your generosity Caroline. You can see the sampler over on the favourites blog.
Now for this week's new challenge which I have named POPPIES. My friend in my local craft shop suggested this idea to me when I went in to buy some wonderful poppy stamps from Papermania (a donation is given to the November Poppy Appeal so well worth buying them for this reason alone).
So the idea is to make your own Poppy badge or broch or tag - something you can wear with pride on Remembrance Day or just keep if you don't want to wear it.
My creation is still drying so I will post it tomorrow.
Enjoy the challenge and take a break from those Christmas cards.
I shall be offline for a couple of days whilst I get sorted in new house but I will be back to see your entries very soon I promise.
This challenge will stay open for two weeks.

Now for the challenge which will last for 3 weeks as I am away on my painting holiday with my friend Dragon from 21st September.
So what is the challenge you ask? Yes, you guessed it - CHRISTMAS but with STARS please. You can add one or more than one as you think fit and this time I would like you to use at least one rubber stamp.
As usual you may create whatever you fancy be it atc, card, scrapbook layout, tag, inchie, 4 x 4 - the choice is yours. OWLS CHALLENGE

Posted by PicasaHere is my Owl fat book page made using Lindsay Mason's lovely owl stamp and my favourite cat stamp from many moons ago. The fat book page background was created using a Cuttlebug embossing folder overinked with different colour die inks and the cat background used alcohol inks. Yellow crystal lacquer was used for the eyes.
PS please post using Mr Linky on the post below and not on this one - it has got a bit confusing lol.
Tune in again tomorrow for a chance to win a fab prize sponsored by the lovely Caroline.

CHALLENGE 72 DRAGONS

Many thanks once again for your lovely alphabet creations, you can see the sampler on the favourites blog.

This week I have another lovely Guest Designer - Lyn - otherwise known as Blackdragon. Here is what she has to say.

'Hello... my name is Lyn, but I use 'Blackdragon', a name given to me by my dad, as I love all things dragon and I wear nothing but black.
I'm quite new to blogging, and the challenges, but I've been crafting in some way or another all my life.... so I'm a jack of all trades, master of none.
I am a widowed mum of 3, with a grown up son and twin girls of 4, I also look after my oldies, my grandparents 24/7.
I'd like the theme of the challenge this week to be anything 'DRAGON'.... scary fire breathers, graceful Chinese dragons, comical cute dragons.... or even dragonflies. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone creates.
Thanks to Cynthia, Rainbowlady for having me as her guest this week... its been fun.
Hugs Lyn x... Blackdragon'

So there we are DRAGONS it is. Also the lovely Lyn is giving a prize this week - thank you my friend - she will choose from the entries at the end of the week.
So get your thinking caps on and create whatever you fancy be it atc, card, scrapbook layout, tag, inchie, 4 x 4 - the choice is yours. As always add your creation to your blog or email me direct with the picture if you don't have a blog. Leave me a comment with a direct link to your work of art and I will pop over to have a look. BOB'S BIKATHON

A very good friend of mine Bob MacDougall, the Residential Manager at Inverness Prison (I used to teach there and worked closely with Bob) is doing his annual charity bike ride soon. He will be cycling from Inverness to Ullapool, Stornaway, Harris, North and South Uist, Barra, Oban, Mull, Iona, Camusnagul, Fort William and back to Inverness - total round trip 450 miles - yes, he is totally mad! but very fit to be able to cycle so far in 9 days.

He will travel alone taking everything he needs on the bike which includes sleeping bag, food and cooking equipment. The funds he raises will go to two very worthwhile charities, the Children's Hospice Association Scotland and Children 1st.

So, I thought I would try to do my bit by asking everyone if they would like to donate a card or cards to me and I will sell them here in the Highlands and the total proceeds will go to Bob's funds.
If you would like to join in please email me at the address on the sidebar and I will let you know where to send your cards.

Here is Bob's email if you wish to contact him direct with a donationRobert.Macdougall@sps.pnn.gov.uk
